Jennifer Gelardo, born 1985 in California/USA, is situated in Vienna since 2015, when she started her degree in video installation with Dorit Margreiter and finished the diploma in sculpture with Heimo Zobernig at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. For her studies of Photography and Philosophy at HfG Offenbach, which she graduated from under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Juliane Rebentisch, she lived in Frankfurt/ Main, Germany. Jennifer Gelardo's work is concerned with the collaborative search for meaning in the ritual of exhibition making. In site-specific installations Gelardo creates new systems of communicative moments. Exhibitions are what she understand as a model - for life outside the exhibition forum - the phrase "Exhibition as Desired Space" has become a slogan for her practice. / Notable exhibitions of Gelardo’s work took place at Kunstverein Kärnten Klagenfurt (2022), Galerie Elisabeth und Klaus Thoman Vienna (2021), Galerie Georg Kargl Fine Arts Vienna (2019), at Belvedere21 Vienna (2019), at the exhibition space ALASKA Projects in Sydney (2018), at Palazzo Lancia Turin (2017), at Klingspormuseum Offenbach (2016), Schwarzwaldallee Basel (2015) and at Galerie 1822-Forum, Frankfurt (2011). / Jennifer Gelardo is ranked among the Top 100,000 globally. Gelardo’s best rank was in 2022, the artist’s rank has improved over the last 3 years, with the most dramatic change in 2021. In 2022 Jennifer Gelardo was ranked on place 106 in the Austrian business magazine TREND.
