Paria Shahrestani

Drawing and painting have always been my way of speaking—a language I learned as a child. Stories and fairy tales filled my imagination, teaching me about emotions and the hidden sides of people. Over time, those stories became worlds I could walk through, exploring their light and darkness and turning them into images.
Living between two continents has changed how I see things. I move through contrasts—between safety and risk, beauty and pain—and my work grows from that space. Each painting or drawing is a moment of reflection, a conversation between what I feel and what I see, between myself and the world around me.
