Für Carlotta Valente ist das fotografische Bild kein flüchtiges Abbild, sondern Objekt, Materie und Technologie. Mit historischen und analogen Verfahren wie der Silbersalzfotografie untersucht sie das Verhältnis von Bild, Zeit und Verwandlung. Jede Arbeit entsteht aus dem Zusammenspiel von Licht, Material und Zeit und trägt die Spuren ihrer eigenen Herstellung, chemische Reaktionen und Oxidationen, sichtbar in sich; so erscheint die Fotografie als Raum von Erinnerung und Metamorphose. 1992 in Rom geboren, studierte sie an der Scuola Romana di Fotografia e Cinema und lebt und arbeitet in Rom. Ihre Arbeiten waren unter anderem im Palazzo Barberini und beim Rotlicht Festival in Wien zu sehen.
